• Take a look at the common log practices that we use daily in mature hardwood applications. It's basically a two-part process. First, we buy the biggest skidders on the market to be able to drag these massive trees with the limbs and tops still intact. Secondly, we do all of our topping and merchandizing at the loader by way of an additional loader attachement called a grapple saw. This leaves the waste in large piles for easy burning or removal.
  • With no man on the ground running a chainsaw, this allows us to achieve the lowest insurance rate possible.
  • When you factor in most landowners preferences, we feel the larger skidders are a valuable, long-term investment that is worth the extra upfront cost, allowing us to drag the large mature trees with tops and limbs still intact.
  • The grapple saw lets us maximize the value of the timber by allowing the operator more control to merchandize the bigger limbs for pulp rather than just leaving the wood to rot and decay.

We are NOT environmentalists, foresters, or in any way claim to be all-knowing, therefore we do not suggest that one practice is better than the other. We are simply trying to illustrate the difference in our logging practices and 95% or our competitors in north Mississippi, south Tennessee and west Alabama.
